The play-off season may have ended prematurely for the Buckeye Bucks, but they finished a strong season and can build on it for next year.

The team finished 8-4, were a perfect 4-0 in the Great Lakes–East conference to win the league title, while outscoring their opponents 280-204. They faced a tough Rocky River team twice in the last three weeks and were upended both times, sandwiched around a win over River Valley, but they were 7-2 in all other games before that.

The Bucks started the season with three wins, 10-0 over Cloverleaf, 37-7 over Connealt,  and 27-26 over Copley before falling to North Olmstead 23-17. They split the next two games, beating Valley Forge 22-18 and losing to West Geauga 14-7. Then came an October run of three wins in a row over Normandy 57-12, Lakewood 17-0 and Holy Name 24-21.

Rocky River was just too tough for the Bucks as the Pirates took the play-off battle with a swarming defense and steady offense.

Now, it is on to basketball for the Bucks … taking up where the football team resided all season … in a winning program.
