Buckeye boys' basketball improves to 5-4 with win over Holy Name, girls fall to 2-6

The Buckeye boys’ basketball team won its second straight game to improve to 5-4 with a 72-58 win over Holy Name on Jan. 7.

Buckeye shot 53% from the field and 43% from the three-point range. The Bucks were also efficient from the line at 83%. The Bucks did a good job altering Holy Name's shots, limiting the team to just 36% shooting. Buckeye also out-rebounded the Green Wave 38 to 29 and had eight assists to five for Holy Name.

After losing the first five games of the season the Buckeye girls’ basketball team won back-to-back games including a 55-49 win over Holy Name on Jan. 8. However the Bucks dropped to 2-6 on the season after a 67-20 loss to Perry at home.
