City & schools seeking donations for inclusive playground

Donate

The City of Brunswick and Brunswick Schools have launched a joint fundraising effort to create an inclusive playground at Neura Park that would provide an environment for kids of all development levels to play together.

A Brunswick resident who also serves as a special education coordinator for the schools first proposed the idea to the Parks, Recreation and Community Committee late 2020, and the idea was immediately taken up.

Plans call for the resident, Leann Alferio, and the schools to collect donations for the project, with the City overseeing construction and maintenance of the playground. The project is expected to cost approximately $400,000.

Individuals and businesses who wish to donate can do so at https://techforms.bcsoh.org/view.php?id=223125 or by making checks payable to Brunswick City Schools and mailing or hand delivering them to the Board of Education, Attn: Leann Alferio.
