Happy #PublicPowerWeek! This is a time which we take a special opportunity to celebrate the City of Wadsworth’s Electric and Communications Department. One aspect of Public Power that sets us apart is our Mutual Aid program through American Municipal Power, Inc.
We have a strong network of communities that are willing and able to step up and help each other out when Mother Nature wreaks havoc. Last Friday, our supervisor led a crew from Wadsworth, and lineworkers from City of Hudson, Ohio - Government, City of Cuyahoga Falls City Hall, and the City of Orrville to Danville Utilities in Virginia to pre-stage and then begin working to help turn the lights back on as soon as Hurricane Ian exited.
They have been working since Saturday helping to fix broken poles and downed power lines in order to restore power.
