Medina County Home Residents Take Trip to Railway Museum
Medina County Home Residents got the opportunity to go to the Northern Ohio Railway Museum located in Seville, Ohio with their activity director, Amber Holahan, Amy Perrine, the Medina County Home social worker, and 2 volunteers. Resident got to ride a 100-year-old electric trolly car, view the museum with their exclusive collection of early to mid-1900s trolley, and learn about the extensive history that revolves around the transit system of the Cleveland area. The residents enjoyed their visit, and we hope to make another trip to the museum soon. The Museum is pursuing its mission to collect, preserve, restore, display and operate streetcars and other railway equipment for the education and entertainment of the public. Over forty streetcars, interurbans, rapid transit cars and other rolling stock have been collected. The Museum is open to the public for walking tours from 10 am to 4 pm Saturdays, mid-May through October. Admission to the Museum is free, donations are requested.
