Lawsuit against a local company named Thrifty Propane, Inc.

In September of 2022 Dave Yost, Ohio Attorney General, filed a CIVIL lawsuit against a local company named Thrifty Propane, Inc., (Thrifty), for repeated violations of consumer protection laws.Shortly after the filing of this lawsuit Thrifty Propane, Inc. without advance notice, closed its doors and has since sought protection through the US Bankruptcy Court.

In many cases, already documented through the Attorney General’s office, families paid for propane that they never received from Thrifty.  Many of these families are now in a dire situation to find the money to pay for propane from another company.  The Medina County Sheriff’s Office has been working with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office and the Medina County Prosecutor’s Office since these events occurred to determine if any of Thrifty’s actions were criminal in nature.  To that end, the Medina County Sheriff’s Office is requesting for any Medina County, (only), residents who contracted with Thrifty Propane, Inc. and did not receive the propane they contracted for to contact the Office of the Attorney General at 1-800-282-0515 to provide their contact information or online at www.ohioattorneygeneral.gov The Medina County Sheriff’s Office will then contact you to gather additional information.

Please note that this request is for MEDINA COUNTY RESIDENTS ONLY.
