Medina County Homes Visits Weymouth Preservation Society
By Amber Holahan
On Tuesday January 31st, recreation coordinator Amber Holahan, took residents of the Medina County Home to visit the historical Weymouth Preservation Society. Susan McKiernan was the tour guide through the old schoolhouse where she gave information on historical artifacts, the town of Weymouth, and about the building itself. Susan referred to herself as a “lover of older things” since she was young and her love for antiques was shown easily as she gave details on the plethora of items to gander. Some of the items that were displayed were an old doll house, a 1942 Weymouth baseball uniform, a school room set-up, old jewelry, and vintage Medina Gazettes. Their oldest item on display was an old spinning wheel from the 1800’s. Medina County Home residents loved their knowledgeable visit. Thanks for having us, Weymouth Preservation Society!
