The Buckeye Bucks improved to 7-2 and 4-2 in Great Lakes competition with a tight 24-21 victory over Holy Name (3-5, 2-3) last Friday.
The Bucks struck first about half-way through the first quarter on a Ben Barnes run and the Green Wave tied it three minutes into the second, before taking a 14-7 halftime lead about a minute later. Holy name increased the lead to 21-7 in the third quarter and then the Bucks got into gear. Barnes scored on a run midway through the third and tied it on a pass with four minutes left, winning on a last-minute field goal of 23 yards by Barnes.
