Council President John Coyne Inducted Into Ohio Association of Track and Cross Country Coaches Hall of Fame

City of Medina issued the following announcement on Jan. 28.

The city congratulates City Council President John Coyne on his induction today into the Ohio Association of Track and Cross County Coaches Hall of Fame. Coyne recorded a pole vault record of 16 feet and four inches in 1986 while a student at Buckeye High School. 

That record stood for 24 years. Coyne is also a four-year letterman and AllAmerican for indoor track (1988) and outdoor track (1989) at the University of Tennessee. Coyne was previously inducted into the Medina County Sports Hall of Fame.
