While our first snowstorm of the season blanketed many communities along Lake Erie with snow, here in Medina County we got lucky and didn't get any accumulation. But that luck isn't going to last all winter so let's talk about some winter driving tips. In addition to the winter driving checklist below, here are some suggestions on some extra equipment to keep in your vehicle:
* extra blanket(s)
* salt / sand / kitty litter to help with traction
* windshield washer fluid
* cell phone charger
* flashlight
* snow brush / ice scraper
* jumper cables
* mini folding shovel
Also remember that during the winter, try not to let your vehicle's fuel tank go below 1/2 tank. This will ensure that should you get stuck in traffic delays, you won't run out of gas.
